Iron Maiden say they’re heading to South Africa

Iron Maiden have listed South Africa as one of the countries on their extensive world tour next year.

In a blog post on their website, the band said: “Shows in South Africa, Maiden’s first visit there with Bruce [Dickinson], will be the last port of call before Ed Force One [the band’s tour jet] heads to Europe.”

The band’s Book Of Souls world tour will traverse 35 countries in 2016, aboard the brand spanking new Boeing 747-400. The tour is in support of the band’s 16th album, which will be released on September 4, 2015.

Details of the South African tour have not yet been released, but Big Concerts quickly took up the opportunity to let people know it was them bringing the band to our shores. Iron Maiden previously toured South Africa in 1995.

This announcement comes days after a website hinting at an AC/DC South African tour went up. The website – called ZA/DC shows a few South African dates. Nobody has come forward to verify its authenticity. – Nikita Ramkissoon
