Portugal. The Man, Paulo Nutini replace Ben Howard shows

American rock band, Portugal. The Man, will be opening for headliner Paolo Nutini at Sowing the Seeds Music Festival at Emmarentia Dam on March 21.

The indie group has graced the stages of Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, to name a few, and will also be performing for one night only in Cape Town at Kirstenbosch Gardens on Friday, March 20.

Portugal. The Man’s latest album, Evil Friends, was produced by Danger Mouse, the five-time Grammy award-winning producer behind Gnarls Barkley, Beck, The Black Keys and now U2, and features melodic tracks like Modern Jesus and anthems like Smile.

Local band, Diamond Thug, is the final addition to the Sowing the Seeds lineup. They will share the stage with other local acts: Desmond and the Tutu’s, Shortstraw and the soulful Bongeziwe Mabandla.

Desmond and the Tutu’s have also been chosen as the opening act for Portugal. The Man in Cape Town.
